This behemoth of a trainset is the ongoing project of a neighbor of mine. It sits wall to wall in his basement and really needs to be seen to be believed. He asked me to take some shots for submission to a magazine. Now if I could just find that guy who has the NYC subway model trainset …

Ah, the final days of summer. They go so quickly don’t they? Can anyone tell me where exactly this is? All I know is it’s somewhere southwest of McCarren Park (previous post) in Greenpoint. I’m usually good at keeping track of such things.

For those who are looking for EXIF/technical info, I’m going to put it in the comments section for now until I can figure out something more aesthetically pleasing.

Finally, it might be worth noting that there’s a mini feature of one of my photos in the Sep. issue of Popular Photography Mag (on sale now). I didn’t dig the print quality, but I guess it’s pretty cool getting some national coverage for the site. If it reads funny, it’s cause’ those words were paraphrased from a phone interview. I don’t actually speak like that

Managed to catch the sun right before it completely went under. Take note of the skyline cause’ this area seems to be undergoing some major changes. I think I counted 7 or so developments goin’ up within a 5 block radius. Nutty – esp. with the market turning. Anyway, thanks to my buddy Orlando for showin’ me this spot. He seems to know all the good stuff in Bklyn.

On another note, I’ve gotten a couple of requests to publish my EXIF data (camera settings) in my posts. ~~I’m still contemplating this~~ update below – what do ya’ll think?

Sorry bout’ the lag in posts. Summertime is usually downtime cause’ the extended days (and unfavorable weather) make night shooting a lil’ harder to come by. There are some site expansions in the works though. Please stay tuned

Yes, the sky was really that color. We hit up this spot at around 8pm just as the sky was turning. I’d hate to have to cross that walkway. Just a block or two away is this.
