Beautiful picture. If you like urban trees you should check out Buenos Aires. I just got back from a couple weeks there and I was struck by the beautiful streets – almost all of them lined by trees to provide shade for the sidewalks. That coupled with the street-facing balconies on almost every building made for some beautiful streetscapes.

Nice shot! I love the composition of the trees and the buildings.
I can see some Japanese words. Left side bar’s name ‘KENKA’is funny.
It means ‘quarrel’ or ‘fight’
B&W version is very atmospheric – but your color shots are so full of warmth – no other blog reaches out and drags the viewer into the screen like yours – keep bringing NYC to life for me!
If this is st.marks…there are some awesome places to eat on this street…been there several times, but have definitely never seen it like this before…nice!

Kurt ... in Austria 8/24/06I’ve been exploring your Favorites. (Was hoping to leave a comment for HomeRange, but there’s no form for that–it’s one of my favorites.)
As for this shot, it works well in color, I think. Lots going on there, and the lighting is magical.
