Damn, nice sky. I love the composition, especially the below grade street in the foreground makes the photo and provides a nice orange contrast to the deep blue sky.
Wonderful … looks like the taxies could drive right up the side of the Met Life bldg. Do you have the camera perched somewhere, or dare to use a tripod??

Congrats, Jim. I saw this pic on curbed. It’s definitely a classic NYc pic. You should make it into a postcard and sell to tourists. Love the colors and the concept.

Thanks for all the comments folks. No, I’m not on holiday ;) but it’s sure hard to find inspiration these days. The sun has been setting earlier though, hopefully something’ll pop up soon.

I am catching up on all you posts - as you can see. I agree with the postcard comment. You would have no competition on that one!
I have one tiny little site comment, just because of this one. It would be more comfortable for the viewer to comment if the picture would remain fix (ie the comment pane could scroll so you could comment AND see the picture). Just a thought.

Jimmie cornershots guy in nyc 9/20/06Awesome! This photo shows the busy big city atmosphere very well! Good title, too! There are indeed some striking similarities to a bee hive here :-)
Lars in Amsterdam 9/20/06You’re lucky you didn’t get harrased and have you gear broken by cops like Rakesh Sharma did. He was in the same spot.
Brian Ramnath 9/20/06I love the relationship you saw between the two! You always do these three exposures so well, never too gimmicky!
